Second edition of MERITA Platform

OPEN CALL FOR STRING QUARTETS AND PIANO TRIOS
Deadline: Saturday, December 13th, 2025 – 11.59 pm (GMT+1)

The European Platform MERITA – where chamber Music, cultural hERItage and TAlent meet
is opening its second edition, MERITAcubed (2025–2029)!
This call is open to professional chamber music ensembles (22 string quartets + 22 piano trios), for members under 36 years of age. Selected ensembles will join a unique international platform and gain access to outstanding opportunities for artistic growth, networking, and international circulation.

WHY APPLY?

Selected ensembles will:

  • Receive training and mentoring by international experts;
  • Develop and perform a special project on one of 6 inspiring topics;
  • Take part in a 5-day artistic residency in a European historic house with a test concert to refine the project;
  • Use innovative tools on the MERITA digital platform;
  • Gain access to a professional network of international cultural institutions;
  • Be promoted and presented on the MERITA Platform to international concert organizers;
  • Perform internationally with at least 3 paid concerts in Europe;
  • Have the opportunity to be selected for one of the 4 extra-EU concerts in the USA, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and North Macedonia.

Required documents:

  • Professional CV of the ensemble,
  • A short presentation video of the ensemble,
  • Links to recent performance videos (no older than 2 years),
  • Ensemble photographs,
  • ID documents for all members,
  • Monitoring and Evaluation Google form,
  • (Optional) Letters of endorsement from institutions, Maestros, or cultural leaders,
  • (Optional) Any additional material relevant to your application.

Please note: incomplete applications will not be considered.

SELECTION PROCESS

The final evaluation of your application will be made by the Artistic Committee.
The results of the selection process will be communicated to all the applicants by Monday, February 16th, 2026.

ABOUT MERITA

MERITA is a European platform enhancing the visibility and circulation of chamber music ensembles while connecting them with European cultural heritage.
Following a highly successful first edition (2022–2025), MERITA has been awarded a second Creative Europe co-funding and is now expanding with MERITAcubed (2025–2029).

MERITAcubed is coordinated by Le Dimore del Quartetto (Milan, Italy) and gathers 19 organisations from 16 countries (soon to be 22 - one more from different countries will join the consortium each year):
