Announcement of the 44 ensembles selected

MERITA Platform announces the 44 new ensembles of MERITAcubed!

MERITA Platform is delighted to announce the 44 ensembles (22 piano trios and 22 string quartets) selected for MERITAcubed, the second edition of the European Platform dedicated to supporting the artistic and professional development of young chamber music ensembles across Europe.

Until 2029, the selected ensembles will develop original artistic projects, take part in residencies hosted in historic European houses, receive advanced training and mentoring, perform internationally, engage with new audiences, and access the digital tools and professional network of MERITA Platform, building a comprehensive journey that strengthens both their artistic identity and their long-term sustainability.

The 44 ensembles will join the 38 string quartets of the first edition already presented on the Platform, 12 of which are currently developing a new project within MERITAcubed. This brings the total number of artistic projects showcased on the Platform to 94.

The open call received 113 applications from ensembles of 39 different nationalities, highlighting an exceptional level of artistic excellence. The selection of 44 new ensembles was both inspiring and highly competitive. The Platform Artistic Committee, composed of internationally recognized musicians Jonathan Aner, Simone Gramaglia, Viviane Hagner, Hila Karni, Bjørg Lewis, and Alexander Pavlovsky, played a decisive role in guiding the selection process.

Beyond the selection phase, the Artistic Committee will continue to mentor, guide, and evaluate the ensembles, ensuring the highest artistic standards while supporting their long-term professional development.
